Underwriting support
Underwriting Reviews
We review and inspect records relating to underwriting issues. Such a review will address the accuracy of the contract's placing and renewal information, application of underwriting procedures and guidelines, received premiums, reinsurances, loss settlements, terms of coverage and general management of the contract as agreed between the parties.
The use of specialist resources to undertake these exercises ensures a professional product, significant cost savings, minimises the impact on clients' own resources, providing an independent and added level of accountability, not always available when performed in-house.
Business Conduct and Binder Reviews
A similar exercise to an underwriting review with particular emphasis on the proper management of the binder as laid down in the initial terms of the contract.
Such reviews will include authority levels, delegated or otherwise, an analysis of the inward cessions, outward and common account reinsurances, claims management, commutations, issuance of documents, bank accounts and financials, staff and review of time bars etc.
